NEW Love Hut...

We spent almost 2 weeks to pack, shift, unpack, clean and decorate our new rented place. Despite that our new place is just a street away from our old rented place, it takes us heaps of time to get everything over. Some evenings it might rain, so it slows down the process of shifting. Our stuffs can be heavy, with the help of our trolley, we try to make at least a trip every evening, unless it rain.
This new rented place wasn't as "style" and big as the old one.... so space management is involved and creativity to get it "style" is another issue. :p Spent quite a hefty sum of money on this place too. Sigh...
Faster than we planned, we managed to settle down on Sunday afternoon, so we decided to take a break and decided to catch a movie - Hills Have Eyes 2, with my HSBC 1-for-1 deal. (Instead of watching that on Monday). It was a great movie, full of suspense... Something like See No Evil and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And today, we went Johor Bahru - Tabrau City to shop and in the evening, we went to City Square. Didn't buy much things... got 3 mths supply of Coloured Contact lens for only $24 each month, which is very very CHEAP! In Singapore, I got to pay $40plus for 1 mth. Goash!
SO SO... it's not easy to shift... I hope this is the last time that we have to shift... unless shifting to our HOUSE in Punggol. These 2 weeks we gotta say NO to our social appointments.... AND finally, our social live is back to normal again! :p
AND guess what, at my OLD rented place.... last friday (27th Apr, which is also hearing of possession for my previous owner) when I got back from work, I found a note from a police officer underneath the door looking for my owner's husband, asking him to return his call. And furthermore, on Saturday morning, someone knocked on our door and handed us a letter of summon for the owner's husband. Goash... my owner is really in deep shit.... and thank god that my friend warned us to end the contract with this owner. There's no financial lost for this contract. Thank god! Now we are stress-free and we can concentrate on our own personal life.

Packing and Moving...

Ever since we have problem with the house... we are never available for our social life. I must thank god for leading us to this new place which is just opposite our current rented unit. We just need to get a trolley and move our stuffs over. Environment is much better too. But of coz it's 100 bucks more than what we are currently pay. We have been packing and scheduling our time to shift our stuffs over and getting the cleaners to clean the place too. We are gradually starting to move our stuffs over the the new place.
It's really an eventful month for us... Stressful but learnt alot from all these shits.
Sam... I know u will be checking on my blog... just leave a short update for you! THANKS for that green tea cake from SHANGHAI! Nice!! Thanks Angelia too! Not really in the mood to write more... will definitely write more when i've got time. :p
Hopefully, after we officially shifted to our new rented unit, our life shall be back to normal... guys... give us some time to settle all these shits.
Cheers...

MOVING HOUSE...

Thank god for all the hints, warning me to beware of my current owner. Suspicion raised when we received a huge document at our door step just before we left for Cambodia. We choose to ignore it (mainly becoz we wanna enjoy our holiday), we informed the owner and mailed it to her before we leave Singapore. When we were back from Cambodia, she rang me and told me that she needs to get someone who can pay higher rental than what we are paying now. We were even more wary about it. So I called up my friend who works in the sub court to check on my owner... and indeed, she's in deep shit. It was indeed stressful for us after we learnt about it. Both Alvin and I had sleepless nights... cancel all our appointments with friends and focus on house hunting. We were worried about where we gonna shift to and are we able to get a unit that we want on time. PLUS property price in Singapore rose and rental prices are no longer within our budget. We were stressed.
For a moment we were relieved because Alvin's Dad's friend can offer us his place for rental at a low price. But because his current tenants are still under contract, we can't get the place till Sept... Back to square one, we continue our house hunt!
Finally, last Saturday, we found a unit that's just opposite our current place. And we took it up! Thank god for it... although it's 100 bucks more expensive than what we are paying now. The owner is a Christian couple. And i usually trust Christians, but my owner proves me wrong, not all Christians are honest. We almost got cheated for 200 bucks for offering to pay for the penalty to terminate their current Internet service which, according to the owners after calling the provider, that it's still under contact and penalty's 400 bucks for terminating. We were naive and trusted their words and i wrote a cheque for them.
When we got home, something tells me that something's fishy about the penalty, so we call up the service provider to ask and realised that the owner lied about the penalty. Trust is broken then! Never will i believe their words. Anyway, Alvin called them up and check again and yes indeed, after checking again, they agreed that there's no penalty, someone told them the wrong information.. (BULL SHIT!!)... And they return the cheque to me.
I m sharing our experience here with all of u, so that u don't get into the same situation like us... moral of the story.. never trust anyone... despite that they look honest, they are Christians, they look decent.. HUMANS are sinner, always tempted by greed. :p
Anyway, through all these, we learnt and become more mature and able to handle such things with care. I view it as a life skill...
AND also, we would like to thank all our friends who help us in finding house, giving information and advises, recommanding reliable agents to us and offer to help us to shift house! THANK U my dear friends... U know who u are! And Jialin, sorry that I m not able to join u guys for ur Birthday KTV session because of all these shits... sorry. And Yunxian, thank you for understanding that I need the rest after stressing so much... sorry... gotta cancel appointment with u too.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Alvin and I was at Siem Reap, Cambodia from 27th Mar to 30th Mar. It was an awesome trip! if u don't mind getting under the HOT sun (41 degrees), sweating the whole day, sun burnt at the end of the whole trip and u love to see the ruins of Angkor Wat (one of the 7 wonders)... then that's the place u MUST visit! It's amazing structure and history makes me feel it's worth sweating!

The most exciting part of the trip was that we have to climb up a steep, narrow, high, ruined stairs at Angkor Wat.... climbing up is OK... pretty scary.... climbing down was like a horror to me... I was shaking the whole time while i took my own sweet time to get down. Of coz Alvin was with me... and I prayed while i were going down. :p But it's worth the effort and terror! hee hee...

There's nothing much to shop in Siem Reap.... basically, it's some stuffs that u can get from Bangkok or even in Singapore. So there's isn't shopping for me. Things are not very cheap there... coz they are using US dollars for transactions. :p We spend most of our money on sight seeing, FOOD (not very fantastic!) and taxes (US$25 each)... And also massage (traditional Khmer massage) which is not fantastic too....

We took our own transport (tuk tuk) to their local wet market.... it was very interesting to see a different culture. Alvin bought tobacco from one of the store and try, he said it was very strong... yuckie! And as requested by Yenling, I bought rice from the market too... YES RICE for her! haa haaa.... communcation was very bad.... they don't understand English at all... so when i ask how much... we have to like communicate as if we are dumb and mute... haa haa.. that's super interesting and funny too! haa haa.... it's a different culture! And I m liking it.

Now i m tanned and I m peeling on my shoulders... hee hee... but I love my tan... :p

here's all my 400 plus photos that we've took from Siem Reap which includes Angkor Wat... ENJOY!
